This workshop situation will facilitate an obscure and reflective space for mourning. It will attend to notions of emptiness referring to grief, and how something can be so achingly present and at the same time so utterly gone. It will do this by dancing, resting, and most importantly by suggesting a space where we don’t offer a solution to mourning processes, but a space to be together with our collective and individual experiences of loss. Our work has been addressing our relationship to loss in the context of the personal, cultural and political from the perspectives of illness, different temporal scales of horror and the ungraspableness connected to loss. We are beginning the final work of this trilogy by looking into the ecstatic edges of grief and its lament forms.
